The domino effect comes from the idea of lining up dominoes, and just by setting a single domino in motion, it will result in all dominoes falling.
What most people don’t know is that a single domino can knock over another domino that is 50 percent its size. Suppose the first domino is just two inches tall and every other domino is 50 percent larger. In that case, the 23rd domino is the size of the Eiffel Tower, the 51st domino is the size of Mount Everest, and the 57th domino is almost the distance to the moon.
You should take time every day to think about the lead domino in your projects and tasks. Then work on that until it’s done, prioritize again, and find the next one. If you can consistently focus on that lead domino (task, project) and whack it away, you will compound your efforts.
All extraordinary results come from compounding and success is built sequentially, one thing at a time.
