We discontinued the Mindsera Mentors feature and replaced it with Minds.

In May 2025, we discontinued the Mindsera Mentors feature and replaced it with Minds.
This change was not about removing functionality. It was about making reflection feel more natural and better aligned with how people actually journal.
Mentors allowed you to have conversations with AI personas like Socrates or Alan Watts. You could ask questions, get advice, and explore your thoughts from different perspectives.
These conversations were often insightful, but Mentors lived outside your journal entry. Your writing was in one place, while the conversation happened alongside it. This split attention frequently interrupted the flow of reflection.
Journaling works best when you stay close to your thoughts.
With Mentors, you had to move back and forth between your writing and a separate chat window. That friction made reflection feel fragmented, especially during longer or more emotional entries.
We realized that insight should not live next to your journal. It should live inside it.
Minds are fully integrated into your journal flow.
Instead of chatting in a separate window, Minds read your writing and leave insightful comments directly on your entry. You can invite different Minds to reflect on your thoughts, then ask follow up questions or explore a comment more deeply without leaving the page.
You can use built in Minds designed to spot thinking patterns, offer alternative perspectives, or connect past entries. You can also create your own custom Minds based on themes, goals, or the styles of people you admire.
All Mind chats are saved so you can revisit them anytime.
Minds remove the context switching that Mentors required. Reflection, insight, and clarification now happen in one place and at the moment you are writing.
The result is a calmer and more focused experience that supports deeper self understanding without breaking your flow.
Mentors helped us learn how people want to think with AI. Minds build on those lessons by offering a more integrated and thoughtful way to reflect that grows with your writing.
We are excited to keep developing Minds and to help you turn journaling into a richer and more meaningful practice.
